Dr Ulfah J. Siregar

Ulfah J. Siregar is an Associate Professor at the Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry, IPB University. She got her PhD from Kyoto University, Japan. By training she is a plant molecular geneticist and biotechnology. She applies a genomics approach to understand the mechanisms of tropical trees’ resistances against pests and diseases, as well as tree adaptations to their environments, for tree improvement programs.

Recently she also studied meta-genomics in microalgae from the Java coastal area. Her research interests also cover climate change and sustainability. She was a Co-Leader in the Energy Cluster of AIC Inaugural Research Phase from 2015-2018, of which her works were on development of renewable energy in agriculture and forestry sectors in Indonesia.
