Thata Debora Agnessia

Debora is a law student at Universitas Antakusuma in Central Kalimantan and a young advocate and journalist passionate about social justice and Indigenous rights. She currently leads Lembaga Pers Mahasiswa (student press association) Mardaheka, serves as Head of Advocacy for Barisan Pemuda Adat Nusantara (BPAN) in Kotawaringin Barat, and on the National Council for the Association of Indigenous Journalists of Nusantara.

Her work focuses on advocacy and empowering communities through storytelling and legal awareness. Debora has represented youth and Indigenous voices in various public forums, including the International Women’s Day Gender Forum (2024), Agrarian Policy Discussions with Local Leaders (2024), and 2nd South East Asia Discussion Forum on Indigenous Peoples (2025).

She was selected as a delegate for the 2025 Australia–Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP), where she engaged in cross-cultural exchange, people-to-people connection and enhanced her professional development at the Australia-Indonesia Centre (AIC).

Through her advocacy and writing, Debora aims to amplify Indigenous perspectives and inspire young people to embrace their cultural identity as a foundation for inclusive development.
