Sandy Arief earned his PhD in Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University, Sydney, and is currently an assistant professor of Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) where he serves as a Secretary of University Academic Senate.
Sandy’s research interests include organisational culture, leadership, and employee empowerment in the use of information systems and the subsequent impact on organisational performance and innovation. He was a multi-year international grant recipient from the U.S. Department of Education and Council for Economic Education (CEE) New York, USA.
During his study at Macquarie University, he was a research assistant at Macquarie Business School (MQBS) in Discovery Project grants of the Australian Research Council (ARC) on transnationalism and diaspora in Australia. He also was the Director of Research and Education at Indonesian Students Association of Australia (PPI Australia).
Currently, he is an assessor for Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (MoECRT), Indonesia; expert reviewer for the Australia-Indonesia Research Collaboration funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia; and academic reviewer for the Indonesia Endowment Funds for Education.
He received the 2020 Emerging Scholar Award from Organization Studies Research Network at the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA.
