Professor Matthew Warren
Professor of Cyber Security
Professor Warren is a Professor of Cyber Security at Deakin University, Australia, and a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society.
He recently co-authored the AIC Backgrounder ‘Up the Game: Issues, risks and challenges in Indonesia’s E-Commerce Cyber security’ together with Caroline Chan and Eugene Sebastian.
Professor Warren is a researcher in the areas of Cyber Security and Computer Ethics. He has authored and co-authored over 300 books, book chapters, journal papers and conference papers. He has received numerous grants and awards from national and international funding bodies, such as: Australian Research Council (ARC); Engineering Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) in the United Kingdom; National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa and the European Union. Professor Warren regularly reviews research proposals submitted to the Australian Research Council and the South African National Research Foundation.
He gained his PhD in Information Security Risk Analysis from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom and he has taught in Australia, Finland, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
Professor Warren aims to undertake research that will help to safeguard Australia and the greater community.
