Acting Director of Research and Community Engagement

Ministry of Research and Technology / National Research and Innovation Agency (Ristek / BRIN)

Professor Heri Hermansyah is the Director of Intellectual Property Management at the Ministry of Research and Technology / National Research and Innovation Agency (Ristek / BRIN). In September 2020, he was appointed as the Acting Director of Research and Community Engagement for RISTEK / BRIN.

Prior to his work at RISTEK / BRIN, Professor Heri Hermansyah held a number of positions at Universitas Indonesia. These include his time as Director of the SMART CITY Program for 3 years (2017 – 2020) and Director of Research and Community Engagement at the Universitas Indonesia (2016 – 2019). At the department level, he previously led the Bioprocess Technology study program (2008-2014) and the Bioprocess Engineering research group in the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Indonesia (2007-2014).

Professor Heri Hermansyah completed his undergraduate study in Gas and Petrochemical Engineering at Universitas Indonesia in 1998. He then continued his masters and doctoral studies in Chemical Engineering at the Graduate School of Engineering at Tohoku University in Japan. He received his master’s degree in 2003 and doctoral studies 3 years later. Professor Heri Hermansyah has held the title of Professor of Chemical Engineering (PhD Eng) from Universitas Indonesia since 2013.
