Prof Fatma Lestari

Fatma is a professor in Safety, and now she is actively participating in Disaster Research & Response Centre (DRRC) at Universitas Indonesia. She has a PhD in Safety Science from UNSW, Sydney Australia, and a Master & Bachelor Degree in Chemistry. She is a lecturer in the Occupational Health & Safety Department, Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia. Her research is in the area of Campus Safety & Health, Emergency/Disaster Management, Laboratory Chemical Safety & Security, Biorisk Management and OHSMS at University & Laboratories. She teaches Industrial Toxicology, Chemical Hazards Sampling & Measurement, Fire & Explosion and Disaster Management. She conducted OHS research within Oil & Gas, Mining, and Manufacturer industries including HSSE Risk Assessment, Quantitative Fire & Explosion Risk Assessment, OHSMS, Emergency Response, Business Continuity, Fire Safety, Contractor Safety & Health Management System, and Safety Integrity Level & Layer of Protection Analysis.
Prof Fatma has been a member of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), USA since 2012. She has also been a member of AiChE(American Chemical Engineering), USA since 2013. She is a member of Indonesian National Independent Team for Safety in Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas Directorate Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources since 2008 until now at which she has been involved in investigating major accidents and conducting safety audits within Oil & Gas Industries. She is also a member of National Safety Awards Evaluator for Mining Industries at which she is involved in the Award Assessment Team at Mining Directorate Indonesia. She is also a member of Indonesian Safety Council in Indonesia who provides advice to Indonesia Ministry of Labour.
