Josep Lay is a seasoned business leader with more than 38 years of experience in marketing, sales, operations, business development, and general management across a diverse range of industries, including packaged foods, food & beverages, fresh produce, protein, pharmaceutical-grade enzymes, biofertilizers and compost, native starch, photography and telecommunications.

Throughout his career, he has built extensive expertise in developing and managing sales and distribution networks across traditional retail, modern trade, and institutional channels. His broad experience encompasses market analysis, strategic planning, budgeting, commercial leadership and organizational growth, enabling him to successfully lead businesses through various stages of development and transformation.

As CEO of the Protein & Plant Product Business at Great Giant Foods, Josep is committed to advancing sustainable agriculture and creating long-term value across the food ecosystem. He actively promotes the initiatives of a zero-waste production cycle, resource efficiency, and an integrated value chain that delivers benefits to farmers, communities, customers, and the environment.

Josep holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Wollongong, Australia.
