Dr Thach Tran

Dr Thach Tran is a research fellow in the Jean Hailes Research Unit, School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University.

He was awarded a PhD in International Health, the University of Melbourne, in 2014. He was awarded Bridging Postdoctoral Fellowships by The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University in 2014 and 2015 and an Early Career Fellowship (2016-2019) by Australia National Health and Medical Research Council. He has more than 10 years’ experience as a public health research officer in Vietnam, working for the Research and Training Centre for Community Development (RTCCD, 1998-2010). He retains an honorary position at RTCCD as an Adjunct Vice Director in Research.

His research focuses on women’s mental health, child health and development in early childhood in low- and middle-income countries, and measurement in health sciences.
