Dr Sanjiwana Arjasakusuma

Lecturer, Geographic Information Science Department

Universitas Gadjah Mada

Dr. sc. Sanjiwana Arjasakusuma, M.GIS., M.Sc completed his undergraduate studies at the Cartography and Remote Sensing Study Program in 2010. After that, he continued his education at the Master of Geographic Information Science (M.GIS, graduated in 2013) with a scholarship from Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) and Masters in Remote Sensing, Faculty of Geography, Gadjah Mada University (M.Sc, graduated in 2015).

After graduating from Masters, he had a career as a GIS Assistant at the Center of International Forestry Research (CIFOR) until 2015, and in the same year he continued his doctoral studies (Doctor of Science, Dr.Sc) with a Monbukagakusho scholarship (MEXT) at Nagoya University, Japan, and graduated in 2018. The focus of research during undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies was in the field of remote sensing, especially in the use of hyperspectral data, lidar, and time-series analysis for studies of forest vegetation (terrestrial vegetation) in Indonesia. In addition, Dr. Sanjiwana also focuses on integrating radar, lidar and optical multi-sensor data and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GEOAI) for mapping rice fields, forests, vegetation dynamics and burn areas.
