Dr Jee Hyun Rah

Dr Jee Hyun Rah works for UNICEF Indonesia Country Office as Chief of Nutrition.

Before moving to Indonesia, she was with UNICEF India Country Office as Nutrition Specialist, providing technical assistance to the Government of India in policy and strategy development regarding maternal and child nutrition. Prior to joining UNICEF, she worked as Nutrition Manager for the public-private partnership between the UN World Food Programme and a multi-national company called DSM, and had also  done consultancies with Academy for Education Development and the World Health Organization.

In addition, she had worked in rural Bangladesh for two and a half years being involved with a large-scale community-based maternal and child health and nutrition research project called JiVitA Bangladesh funded by USAID and Gates Foundation. She obtained her Ph.D. degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health focusing on international nutrition. She has worked extensively over the past few years in many developing countries in Asia and Africa conducting research and implementing nutrition programs.
