Dr Indang Trihandini

Dr Indang Trihandini is a lecturer in the Department of Biostatistics and Population, in the Faculty of Public Health at Universitas Indonesia.
She has more than 25 years of teaching experience in biostatistics, and community health curricula at the Faculty of Public Health – Universitas Indonesia. She graduated from Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia (1985), a Master of Public Health from the Universitas Indonesia (1994) and a Doctoral degree in Public Health (PhD) from Universitas Indonesia (2007).
Her professional work includes Thirty years’ experience in analysing and conceptualizing and implementing operations research (OR) in many areas such as maternal, children under five years, HIV-AIDS and also Quality of life on elderly in nationally and internationally.
Her teaching career began in 1988 with an emphasis on facilitating students gain knowledge especially on practical quantitative research methods. She taught many courses including Intermediate Biostatistics, and application of population and health indicators in the context of improving child, mother and elderly health. In 2007, she appointed as chairman of Dept of Biostatistics and Population Studies for seven years, and she is a head of education and development at faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia. She is also Secretary in Professors Committee at faculty of Public Health 2017-2022.
She has experience collaborating with international organisations including WHO, UNICEF, USAID and the East West Center. She has also lectured at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and taught statistics analysis with STATA for the Population Council in Vietnam. Her expertise in public health and quantitative methods make her a leader in planning, organisation, problem solving, and designing coordination strategies. Currently, she is trusted as one of Indonesian GBD (Global Burden Diseases) collaborators.
