Dr Heni Kurniasih

Dr Heni Kurniasih is a social scientist and policy analyst specializing in environmental policy and governance with 20 years work experience. Her research focuses on community development and poverty reduction, with areas of research related to social forestry, agriculture, water, and education in Indonesia. She is interested in emerging social, economic, political economic, and ecological transitions to sustainability in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Heni’s current work addresses crosscutting policy and governance issues involving complex interactions among diverse actors and institutions at multiple levels: government, NGOs, academics, communities, and international development agencies. It also focuses on linking research to policy and managing international development projects to build stakeholder engagement and support interlinked community institutions, such as through working groups within and outside government agencies.
