Christina is a social researcher with a keen interest in understanding how agrarian transformations interact with conditions of vulnerability.

She holds a PhD from the Australian National University, which examined vulnerability, livelihoods and disaster knowledge in the highlands of Central Java, Indonesia. She has also researched local understandings of climate change adaptation among dairy farmers in the lower south island of Aotearoa-New Zealand.

Christina’s research primarily focuses on the way communities understand, mitigate and adapt to processes of environmental change, particularly in agricultural settings.
