Dr Armin Lawi, S.Si., M.Eng.
Armin Lawi is an Associate Professor (Lektor Kepala) of Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Hasanuddin University, Makassar, Indonesia.
Currently, he is the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the BJ Habibie Institute of Technology, a new national university located in Parepare City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, for the 2021-2025 period.
He completed a Bachelor of Science (S.Si.) in Mathematics from Hasanuddin University, earned his Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Computer Science and Communication Engineering at Kyushu University, and received his Doctor of Engineering (Dr.Eng.) of Creative Informatics from Kyushu Institute of Technology, Fukuoka, Japan.
He was a Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Science, Fukuoka, Japan, 2004-2007. He served as the Chancellor at the Kharisma Computer College (STMIK Kharisma) in the 2009-2013 contract term, the Head of the Computer Science Department at Hasanuddin University for the 2014-2018 period, and Director of the Postgraduate Program of Computer Systems at the Handayani Computer College (STMIK Handayani) in the 2015-2019 contract term.
His fields of study include Algorithms, Parallel and Distributed Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Smart Information Systems.
