Dr. Ahmad Agus Setiawan is an Energy expert staff in the Executive Office of the President of Republic of Indonesia and was an expert panelist for Indonesian Presidential Debate 2019 on energy and environment issues. He is a US-ASEAN Science & Technology Fellow at USAID-ASEAN Foundation.
He has research passion in Renewable Energy Systems Planning and Applications for Sustainable Development. PhD in Renewable Energy Systems from Curtin University, Australia; MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering from KTH, Sweden and BEng in Electrical Engineering from UGM. Member of Working Group on Energy Self Sufficient Program for Indonesia within the Institute of Research and Community Services of UGM and Indonesian Renewable Energy Society. Project development of hybrid energy system for outermost island of Marampit, in cooperation with the Ministry of Research and Technology Indonesia & expert staff at Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for National Energy Policy to be implemented throughout local government in Indonesia.
Winner UNESCO & Daimler sponsored Mondialogo Engineering Award 2007, PII Engineering Award 2010 from The Institution of Engineers Indonesia, Australian Alumni Award 2011 for Sustainable Economic and Social Development from Australian Embassy in Indonesia and Energy Globe Award 2012 from an Austrian Foundation and Energy Globe Ambassador in 2013. Recipient of Habibie Award 2014 in Engineering.
