She is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and a former Director, Southeast Asia Development Section, most recently as the Consul-General of Makassar from 2020 to 2023. In Canberra, Ms Robbins has held several positions including Director, UN Economic Section She has previously served overseas as Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Mission to ASEAN, Jakarta and has also served overseas in Colombo, Bangkok, and Pretoria. Ms Robbins served on the Australia-Indonesia Centre’s Research Advisory Panel which supports and helps identify relevant areas of research investigation.

Ms Robbins speaks Indonesian, and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies) (Hons) from the Australian National University.
