Bayan Yazdani
PAIR Intern
The Australia-Indonesia Centre
Bayan is a Master of Business Administration student from the University of Adelaide, focusing on international trade and development. He has undergraduate qualifications in psychology, international relations, and foreign languages from Flinders University. He was born in Iran but has lived in Australia since childhood, evoking in him a strong interest in the relationships between Islamic and Western cultures.
He also studied in Bandung, West Java through the ACICIS International Relations Program from January – May 2020, where he concurrently interned with Greeneration Foundation: an environmental advocacy and community empowerment NGO. He subsequently interned remotely with Australia Awards Indonesia, where he learned more about Australia’s comprehensive aid program to Indonesia and the role of education therein.
Bayan is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and the People and Culture Director at Young Australians in International Affairs. As a PAIR intern, he is looking forward to developing his understanding of Australia-Indonesia research collaboration, bilateral development initiatives, and the role of seaweed (kelp) in economic empowerment and climate change adaptation across both nations.
