Anna Sanders is a social researcher specialising in issues of environmental governance and climate change, land tenure and local livelihoods. She has recently completed a PhD that examined multi-level governance and policy arrangements for REDD+ in Indonesia.

Anna is interested in interdisciplinary and ethnographic methodologies, and the intersections of development, sustainability and governance in regions undergoing rapid change. Her research is underpinned by concerns of power, equity and justice. She has conducted policy-relevant analysis for civil society and research institutes, and her previous research was affiliated with the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR).
