Dr Sri Astuti Thamrin is an Associate Professor who is working in the Statistics Department in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science at Hasanuddin University. She has conducted research on the various issues related to non-infectious disease in Indonesia. Since 2016 until now, she has been researching a spatial survival model for dengue fever in Makassar City, Indonesia. This work was funded by the higher education research award, which is a national award that is granted to the lecturer with superior academic achievement to allow them to perform research. She is currently involved in statistical machine learning to predict obesity for basic health research survey data in Indonesia.
She also serves as a former Vice Chair of the Indonesian Statistics Higher Education Forum (FORSTAT) in 2018- July 2020, and is a 2018 Conference Awards for Scientists, Conference fund for developing countries from International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (ISCB).
She has a Bachelor of Statistics Science from Hasanuddin University, and a master’s degree from School of Mathematical and Information Technology at The University of Newcastle and PhD in Statistical Science from the School of Mathematical Science at Queensland University of Technology.
