Professor Abdul Haris

Abdul Haris is an academic and university administrator from the University of Indonesia (UI). He has been a full professor in geophysics at the university since 2019 and became the Deputy for Empowerment of Village Communities, Underdeveloped Areas, and Certain Regions in the Coordinating Ministry for Social Empowerment in December 2024.

Professor Haris is a former Director General for higher education, research, and technology in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

He completed undergraduate and masters degrees from the University of Indonesia and later completed a doctoral thesis in geophysics at Kiel University in Germany.
