Food & Agriculture

A Food & Agriculture planning team engaged researchers separately in Australia and Indonesia in late 2014.

During this time, members from the University of Sydney, the Australian National University, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Institut Pertanian Bogor, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember and Universitas Airlangga identified the most pressing issues concerning both Australia and Indonesia.

Six shared issues were identified:

  • Biosecurity threats
  • Innovation
  • Changing social dynamics of the agriculture and food sector
  • Trade opportunities
  • Climate change and national policies

Three ‘Small Projects’ and one ‘Rapid Start Project’ are undertaking research in these areas.
