Indonesian-Australian renewable energy Super Grid

This project explores opportunities for a large-scale interconnected system for generation, storage and transmission of solar photovoltaic (PV) electricity across Indonesia and Australia. This will provide the two countries with up to 50% renewable electricity by 2035, and establish a hub of energy provision through an Asia-Pacific supergrid.  The two complementary themes;  (i) large-scale solar generation and storage within Indonesia and Australia and (ii) establishment of a large-scale generation, storage and transmission system connecting Indonesia and the north west Australian deserts will provide shared social, environmental and economic benefits to Australia and Indonesia.
