Breaking the chain of tobacco smoking in Generation Z by changing the perspective of school students

The uptake of tobacco smoking in children and adolescents in Indonesia is increasing despite it being a leading cause of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). A lack of early education on the harmful effects of tobacco smoking and the influence of tobacco advertising and social norms has contributed to the rapid uptake of tobacco smoking among youths in Indonesia.

This project aims to encourage Generation Z to be a tobacco-free generation and advocate to enforce tobacco-free schools in the area of Jakarta. This project aims to raise the awareness of teenagers to the NCDs caused of tobacco, to de-normalize tobacco and smoking, to enforce tobacco-free schools law based on national and local regulation and to train leadership of Generation Z to speak up and be peer educators.
